My wife and I were having a heart-to-heart recently - where we tell each other the little niggly things that get on each other’s nerves… She alerted me to my habit of saying ‘what’s if…’ about things eg What’s if we watch Midsomer Murders tonight…
Turns out ‘what’s if’ isn’t a thing. And I’ve been saying it for the last 25 years! My mind is blown.
Not sure why I’m telling you this, except perhaps to highlight that long held understandings are sometimes totally wrong.
In other news - ‘supposably’ is actually a word. (Yes, if you were a Friends fan you’ll remember that episode with Joey).

Speaking of Moby and Tasha… and George B Thomas…
It was a pleasure to join Moby and Tasha on George B’s Hub Heroes podcast. We chatted about HubSpot’s INBOUND event. You can listen to the episode here.
Here’s a few quick items of interest we noticed:
There’s two main calendar tools in HubSpot:
Here’s the social calendar:
Here’s the Campaign calendar, just showing social posts:
Example of Campaign calendar showing all marketing event types:

Here is the knowledgebase article about Campaign Calendar and how to best use it.
This is a contact view that we added when a customer asked how do you tell if a contact has been in a sequence and when was the last time they were in a sequence.
To do this you need to filter Now in Sequence is equal to False and add to your view the columns Last Sequence Ended Date and as a precaution the Recent Sales Email Opened Date.
This will give you a good indication of the contact and when they have been in a sequence. We suggest adding the columns below and saving that view.
Here is a potential use case for this: If you often have contacts that belong to multiple deals/projects, in this case then someone could have been in a sequence not too long ago. So sales wanted to make sure that they had not recently been in a particular sequence.
Workflow settings allow you to constrain when workflow actions will execute.
For example, you may want to keep workflow actions within business hours, and possibly avoid on public holidays as well:
You can also get very granular (the following isn’t a suggestion per se, it’s just an example of what’s possible):
There’s a limit to how many Child themes you can have in a portal.
According to the HubSpot Developer docs:
The total number of child themes you can have is based on your subscription:
My question: Why?
Why would you limit this?
We ran into this limitation this week… very frustrating.
I’m going to raise a ticket with Support to see if they have any context around this.
Accidentally copying a preview URL and using it in a QR code.
We discovered that when a client was looking at their landing page report and saw no traffic when they distributed thousands of flyers. It was looking like this:
What we discovered is that they had copied the preview URL from HubSpot and therefore it was not registering in the traffic analytics. We also did not initially see it when we forwarded the link to someone to test as Apple seems to strip this when you share or AirDrop it!
This is what you see if you hovered and dragged the URL over the screen:
“You cover the topics beyond surface level and the documents you also provide are great for reflection.”
Prompt: Laptop screen in dark purple to black bokeh background, colorful biomorphic forms and elements coming out, luminous palette, hyper-realistic details, blue to purple gradient lighting, high resolution

A nice anecdote from Taylor Lorenz (Substack link) on the skill of writing headlines.
She writes:
The headline that was written, I think I had written on Facebook, or one of my team did, was like, “Whale spotted for the second time.” And [editor Martin Clarke] was like, “No, it’s the whale that can’t stay away,” and “Here, you need to tell this story and you need to frame it.” I just learned a lot through that in terms of storytelling.

“On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.”
